James died May 12, 2013 in Decatur, Newton Co, MS. OBIT; Services for James Paul Allgood will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m., at Newton County Funeral Home North in Newton. Burial will be in Mississippi Veterans Cemetery with Newton County Funeral Home North in charge of arrangements. Mr. Allgood, 71 of Decatur, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his residence in Decatur. He loved to play golf, family, attend church, watch sports, and the news, and riding the motorcycle. He also enjoyed working in the yard and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Susan Elizabeth Thompson Allgood of Decatur; two sons: Marshall Allgood and wife Lisa of Laurel, and Paul Mitchell of Detroit, Mich.; one daughter, LaNette Shoemake of Petal; five granddaughters: Lindsay Shoemake, Halley Shoemake, Lexi Shoemake, Natalie Allgood and Gracie Allgood; one sister, Nancy Brock; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Freeman. He was preceded in death by parents, Marshall and Gladys Leach Allgood; two sisters: Carolyn Edwards and Marcella Hollingsworth; and, two brothers: George Allgood and Donald Allgood. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Mitchell, Jason Massey, Allen Amis, Matthew Bender, Jessie Lancaster, and Marshall Allgood. He married three times. He married Linda Joyce Crimm 1968 in Forrest, MS. Linda was born 1939. Linda was the daughter of Elvin Eugene Crimm and Mary Helen Masssey. Linda died Septembe 21, 2022 in Petal, Forrest Co., MS.
