Services for Henry Owen Birmingham Jr., 85, of Alexandria will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Causey officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Birmingham died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors include a daughter, Frances Louise Birmingham of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son and his wife, Henry Owen "Hank" Birmingham III and Joan Birmingham of Katy, Texas; two stepdaughters, Virginia Mashburn of Saks and Jean Ford Moncus of Cragford; a brother, Gerald Keener Birmingham of Piedmont; six grandchildren, Henry Owen Birmingham IV, Justin Reed Birmingham, Daniel Grant Birmingham, Jessica Louise Foley, Jeremiah Robert Foley IV and Lina Frances Foley; a great-grandchild, Henry Owen Birmingham V; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his son and grandsons and Butch Haver.

Mr. Birmingham was a native of White Plains and a former resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., for 41 years. He moved to Alexandria in 1991. He was a World War II Navy veteran and attended Leatherwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wives, Frances Reed Birmingham and Clara Eva Pettus Birmingham.

He married twice. He married Hulder Frances Reed June 1, 1948 in Alexandria, Calhoun Co., AL. Hulder was born August 23, 1919 in Glencoe, Etowah Co., AL. Hulder was the daughter of Hugh Stanley Reed and Dovie Louise Priket. Hulder died September 5, 2001 in Alexandria, Calhoun Co., AL. He married Clara Turley March 2002 in Calhoun Co., AL. Clara died October 29, 2002 in Alexandria, Calhoun Co., AL. Services for Clara Eva Pettus Birmingham, 80, of Alexandria will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mike Owens and Ronnie Moore officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Birmingham died Tuesday at home.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Eva (Jean) Ford and Danny Moncus of Cragford and Virginia (Jenny) Lambert and Ellis Mashburn of Saks; two step-daughters, Louise Birmingham of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Geraldine Crendall and her husband Larry; seven step-sons and their wives, Henry and Joan Birmingham of Houston, Jerry and Mary Pettus of Anniston, Kenneth Pettus of Oxford, Blake and Clarise Pettus of Korea, Scott Pettus of Florida, Bobby and Maxine Ford and Thomas and Donna Ford, all of Washington; two sisters, Cora Bell Dykes of Huber Heights, Ohio, Evelyn Whatley of Alexandria; four brothers, Bill Turley of Heflin, Duke and R.C. Turley, both of Oxford, and Dave Turley of Blue Mountain; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Colt Turner, Steve Butcher, Brian Duke, Jerry Willet, Carl Burtham, Grover Whatley, Joseph Poore and Christopher Poore.

Mrs. Birmingham was a native of Randolph County and resident of Calhoun County for many years. She was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church and retired from K-Mart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Leatherwood Baptist Church.
