He married Sarah Evalyn Gray June 4, 1949 in Scottsdale, Maricopa Co., AZ. Ernest and Sarah were married by his uncle, Rev. Wesley Baker and Rev. Powell Green at the Scottsdale Methodist Church, Scottsdale, AZ

Sarah was born October 27, 1925 in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN. Sarah was the daughter of Simm Gray and Harriet Hood. Sarah died December 11, 2000 in Cornville, Yavapai Co., AZ. Sarah Gray Allgood, 75, of Chino Valley, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in Prescott. She was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Simm and Harriet (Hood) Gray. Mrs. Allgood moved to Arizona in 1948 to teach school. She was a former rancher in the Kirkland area, a librarian, and past president of the Yavapai Cowbelles and Kirkland Woman's Club. She taught Sunday school and held other offices at Skull Valley Bible Church and Mountain View Methodist Church in Cottonwood. Her family knew her as a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Allgood-McCoy of Chino Valley; sons, Andrew of South Carolina and Robert of Missouri; sister, Jane Miller of Salacoga, Ala.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband of 43 years, E. Wade, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Skull Valley Bible Church, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Memory Chapel Mortuary helped the family with arrangements.

During World War II, he served in England, France, Germany, and Austria. After the war, he returned to farming. He was on the Council of the Salt River roject from 1954-1960. He was a member of the Scottsdale Methodist Church. Wde moved his family to Kirkland, Yavapai Co., AZ in 1959. He established the Allgood Land and Cattle Co. with his father. they bought the Lucky Hills Ranch in Tombstone, AZ in Cochise Co. in 1956 and kept it for thre yers before settling i Kirkland. Afte the death of his father, Allgod Land and Cattle Co. dissolved in 1980. Wsde was President of Yavapai Cttle Groweres from March 1975 through March 1976. He served on the School Board and Election Boards of Kirkland. He was a member of Skull Valley Community Church.
