Mr. Allgood was born in Chilton TX on July 16, 1902. He lived in the Chilton/Waco area for many years and was employed with Texas Power and Light Co.
He married Elizabeth Shimmins in 1953. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Allgood of Waco; daughters, Mrs. Harold (Marie) Hendrix of Ft Worth TX, Miss Mary Connor of Waco, Miss Cynthia Ann Allgood of Waco, Mrs. Kathy Buro of Waco, and Mrs. Madelyn Goff of China Spring TX; sons, Sam Allgood of Waco, and Max Faubus of Bastrop TX; sisters, Maggie Mae McKelroy of Elm Mott TX, Mrs. Mary Madole of Beaumont TX, Mrs. Lucille Mann of Marlin TX; and Mrs. Louise Smith of Waco; and 10 grandchildren.
He married twice. He married Ruby E. Allgood. Ruby was born July 25, 1906 in Bowie, Montague Co., TX. Ruby was the daughter of John Robert Allgood and Anna Elizabeth Hudson. Ruby died December 1, 1952 in Keller, Tarrant Co., TX. Ruby is buried in the Smithfield Cemetery, Smithfield, Tarrnat Co., TX
He married Elizabeth Lee Shimmins 1953. Elizabeth was born April 12, 1922. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Waite Shimmins and Jewell Mable Martin. Elizabeth died November 18, 2014 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX. OBIT: Elizabeth Lee Allgood passed from this life November 18, 2014 at the age of 92. She was born in Waco, Texas to Jewel and Thomas Shimmins.
Elizabeth is survived by five children; Madeline Goff of Waco, Max Faubus and his wife Glenda of Bastrop, Cindy Cohen of Dallas, Sam Allgood and his wife Jocelyn of Sanger, Kathy Buro and her husband Dale of Bastrop,15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to MD Anderson Children's Cancer Research Center in Houston, Tx in loving memory of Elizabeth Allgood.
A graveside service for Elizabeth will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas under the direction of Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home.
