Ruth Mozelle9 Hogue (Harvie Hobson8, Frank Erastus7, Jonathan Patrick6, Sarah (Sally) Hudson5 Allgood, William A.4, John Young3, William2 Algood, Edward1 Allgood) was born in Bivins, Cass Co., TX December 10, 1917. Ruth died June 12, 2008. OBIT:: Mozelle Beck passed away at age 90 after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Beck was born in Huffines to Harvey and Myrtle Williams Hogue. She graduated from Kilgore College in 1938 and received her bachelors of Science degree from East Texas State Teachers College in 1940. She met Sgt. Charles F. Beck of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. at a USO dance in Greenville in 1943, and they married soon after. Mozelle spent 25 years in New York State running a thriving produce business with her husband. In 1968 she returned to Cass County with her family and taught in the Atlanta school system at both Booker T. Washington and Atlanta High Schools. After retiring from teaching, she volunteered for several years at Atlanta Memorial Hospital. Mozelle loved tending to her gardens, her African violets, and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles. She is survived by four children, Patricia Beck Vaeth, Tom Beck, Charles Roscoe Beck, and Terry Beck Knapp; seven grandchildren, Sarah Rosalind Juliett Vaeth, Andrew Charles William Vaeth, Lauren Robertson Beck, Joel Knapp, Taylor Knapp, Emily Knapp, Charles Evan Beck; and one great-grandchild, Aiden Joseph Knapp. The Beck family wishes to thank Atlanta Memorial Hospital home health and the staff of the hospital for their loving care at the end of her rich life. Graveside services were held Thursday, June 12 at 2 p.m. at the Huffines Cemetery in Huffines. Interment was under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service in Atlanta.
She married Charles Fredrick Beck April 23, 1944 in Greenville, Hunt Co., TX. Charles was born September 11, 1920 in Poughkeepsi, NY. Charles was the son of Charles Beck and Elizabeth Schaefer. Charles died July 12, 1999 in Atlanta, Cass Co., TX. Beck, Charles F. Jr. 78, of Atlanta died Monday, July 12, 1999, in Atlanta. born Sept. 11, 1920, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was a retired fruit farmer, member of First Baptist Church and New York Horticultural Society and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Beck of Atlanta; two sons, Tom Beck and Charles Roscoe Beck of Austin; two daughters, Patricia Vaeth of Fort Collins, Colo., and Theresa Knapp of Duncanville, Texas
