Rosemary died Sseptember 21,2012 in Texarkana, Bowie Co., TX. OBIT: Rosemary Lummus, age 88, of Bloomburg, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital.
Rosemary was born in the New Hope Community near Bloomburg, Texas on January 31, 1924 to Alfred and Jennie Gibson. She went on to marry the love of her life, S. W. Lummus on October 14, 1944. She was a devout Christian and lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served in past years as a Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, Bible school worker, and sung in many, many specials.
Her life was devoted to her husband S.W. and their children and Grandchildren. She was a loving wife and homemaker. Her entire family revolved around her and also the dinners every Sunday, and the regular family devotionals and singings. She was preceded in death by her husband, S.W. Lummus; parents, Alfred and Jennie Gibson; a sister, Evelyn Gibson; three brothers, J.A. Gibson, Noble Gibson, Jeter Gibson; and one great granddaughter, Kelsi Blank.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Lummus and wife Jill of Atlanta, Texas, Ronnie Lummus and wife Sue of Bloomburg, Texas, Ricky Lummus and wife Bonnie of Bloomburg, Texas; three daughters, Charlotte Allen and husband Joe of Atlanta, Texas, Sandra Duke and husband Steve of Bloomburg, Texas, Sonya McCasland and husband Mark of Bloomburg, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, plus two more on the way. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 21, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
She married S. W. Lummus October 14,1944 in Miller Co., AR. S. was born September 25, 1924. S. died December 20, 1999 in Bloomburg, Cass Co., TX.
