Graveside Memorial services for Louise will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 26, at the Newton Union Cemetery, conducted by Pastor David Rex. Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials are being designated in Louise’s name, and may be left at the funeral home.

Louise the daughter of Cecil E. Allgood and Pansy May (Smith) Allgood, was born Feb. 17, 1927, Oskaloosa. She was a graduate of the Oskaloosa Senior High, Class of 1947.

Louise was united in marriage with Raymond R. Kentfield in Oskaloosa. He would precede her in death. Over the years, Louise had lived in Oskaloosa, Ft. Madison, Oklahoma, Marshalltown, Knoxville, Des Moines and Casey, prior to Newton. Louise was then united in marriage with Carroll B. Newell in Illinois. She was employed as a Nurse Aid in Homecare and as a Health Care Worker. She had devoted her life to her family and friends, and was a past member of the Oskaloosa Presbyterian Church, Kings Daughters, school P.T.A. and Oskaloosa Hospital Workers Auxiliary. Louise will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crafts, collecting antiques, cooking and all recipes.

Those left to honor Louise’s memory include her two brothers and a sister: Ernie Lee Allgood of Beacon, Dale Cecil Allgood of Lohma, Missouri and Mary Lou Fielder of Oskaloosa; several nieces and nephews; and her many friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; and her son Michael Ray Kentfield

She married twice. She married Carroll B. Newell in Selfton, Effingham Co., IL. Carroll was born July 24, 1934. Carroll died June 6, 2001 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., IA. She married Raymond (Tex) R. Kentfield in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA. Raymond was born October 9, 1925. Raymond died May 1986 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA.

18812 i. Michel R.9 Kentfield was born in Okaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA August 24, 1949. Michel died August 23, 2006 in Iowa City, Johnson Co., IA. OBIT: Michael R. Kentfield, age 56, of Blakesburg, Iowa, died August 23, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon, August 26, 2006, at the Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday, August 25, 2006; the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice. Michael R. Kentfield, son of Raymond “Tex” and Louise Allgood, was born on August 24, 1949 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1967. After graduation he began his working career for H. G. Brown Plumbing and Heating and continued working there after he brought the farm north of Blakesburg in 1973. He enjoyed farming and raising livestock. Michael is survived by his companion of 26 years, Pat Schlotter of Blakesburg, Iowa; his mother, Louise Newell of Newton, Iowa; his step mother, Carol and Raymond Mitchell of Oskaloosa, Iowa; three uncles, Charlie and Ellen Kentfield of Oskaloosa, Ernest and Billie Allgood of Beacon, Iowa and Dale and Cleo Allgood of Russellville, Mo.; and one aunt, Mary Lou and Dick Fielder of Oskaloosa, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond “Tex” Kentfield.
