Arthur died December 6, 1963 in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE. Obit: Arthur Franklin Allgood, son of the late Johnnie F. and Claudia H. Allgood, was born September 11, 1901 at Glenrock, Nebraska. He passed away at his home Friday, December 6, 1963, at the age of 62 years, two months and 25 days. He was united in marriage to Edith L. Polston on April 9, 1921, at Auburn, Nebraska. to this union were born two children, Johnnie a. of Peru and Edna m. Wheeldon of North Highlands, Calif. He spent his entire life in Nemaha County where he engaged in farming until 1951. He has lived in Peru since 1955 and has served on the city council the past two years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Edith; two children, Johnnie and Edna; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Jerry Henning of Sloan, Iowa, Mrs. Carroll Reeves, Richard J., Jerry L., and Phillip D. Allgood, all of Peru. Connie J. and James A. Wheeldon of North Highlands, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Michael and Troy Henning and Kevin Reeves; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Blankenship of Peru, Mrs. Clifford Stock of Lincoln, and Mrs. Floyd Jennings of Tulbre, Calif.; five brothers, Cleo of Auburn, Fred of Lancaster, Calif. Clyde, Ernie and Ray of Peru; many relatives and a host of friends. He married Edith Lorene Polston April 9, 1921 in Auburn, Nemaha Co., NE. Edith was born June 8, 1895 in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE. Edith was the daughter of Andrew Polston and Margurite Ellen Wells. Edith died May 21, 1986 in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE. Obit: Edith Lorene Allgood, daughter of Andrew and Margaret Wells Polston, was born at Peru on June 8, 1905, one of eight children. Edith received her education at district No. 3 rural school near Peru and T. J. Majors high school. She joined the Christian church in Paul at the age of 12 and was also a member of the Rural Life Club. April 9, 1921, she was united in marriage to Arthur F. Allgood. They lived their entire married life in Nemaha County. Mr. Allgood passed away on Dec. 6, 1963. In 1971, Mrs. Allgood moved to North Highlands, Calif. to be with her daughter and family. She passed away May 21, 1986, having reached the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and three sisters. Surviving are her son, Johnnie Andrew Allgood of Auburn; daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Wheeldon of North Highlands, Calif; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services were held May 24 at Casey-Witzenburg chapel, conducted by Gregg Berger. Grandsons serving as pallbearers included Phillip Allgood, Jim Wheeldon, Troy Henning, Jeff Allgood, Rip Reeves and Travis Allgood. Mrs. Ellis Adams and Mrs. LaVerne Wheeldon assisted with flowers. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery at Peru.
