He married Leudean (Dean) Garnett Crabtree August 16, 1940 in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE. Leudean was born April 28, 1919 in Sonora Island, NE. Sonora Island is near Watson, MO Leudean was the daughter of John Lemuel Crabtree and Mary Finnesse Likens.
Leudean died December 3, 2006 in Auburn, Nemaha Co., NE. Obit: Leudean Garnet (Crabtree) Allgood, daughter of John Lemuel and Mary Finnesse (Likens) Crabtree, was born April 28, 1919 on Sonora Island, Ne. near Watson, Mo. She was the youngest of eight children. As a young girl, Leudean lived in Watson, moving to Peru in 1931. She received her education at Peru Demonstration High School, and attended Peru State College. Aug. 16, 1940 Leudean married Tyler Eugene Allgood in Peru. They lived in Peru and later moved to Auburn. Tyler was in World War II and the Korean Confrontation. The couple was blessed with four children: Elizabeth Anne, Susan Lynne, Sally Jo and Tyler Eugene, Jr. Besides raising her family and running the household, Leudean worked for 19 years at the Campbell Soup Company plant in Tecumseh, retiring in 1983. Dean, as she was known to family and friends, had been a member of the Bethel Community Church, and was involved in the Women's Auxiliary there. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, playing cards and playing bingo. Leudean's health failed and she became a resident of the Nemaha County Good Samaritan Center in Auburn in June of 2006. It was there she died on Dec. 3, 2006 at the age of 87 years, seven months and five days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tyler on March 9, 1969, five sisters, two brothers, a son-in-law and a granddaughter. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Anne and Gil Lopez of Auburn; Susan Lynne Peterson, Auburn, Sally Jo Allgood, Red Oak, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, Tyler Eugene, Jr. and Georgina Allgood, Lincoln; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Services were Dec. 8, 2006 at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, officiated by Rev. Frank Zimmerman. Pallbearers were Gil Lopez, Trevor Hale, Phil Allgood, Leroy Able and Alan Able. Burial followed in Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Peru.
