Glenn died June 1, 2008 in Jackson, LA. OBIT: A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, where he received wonderful care from a loving and devoted staff. He was born June 3, 1922, in Dry Creek. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Tregre Allgood; son, Scott Allgood; daughter, Melanie Hawes; sister, Mary Janet Hartman, of Zellwood, Fla.; brother, Sam S. Allgood, of Mandeville; six grandchildren, Taylor, Katie and Cara Allgood, Brent Kogel and Elizabeth and Keith Hawes; and three great-grandchildren, Brooks Kogel, Camille Allgood and Grayson Hawes. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sam S. Allgood and Minerva Iles Allgood; brother, Frank Allgood; and wives, Jane Lewis Allgood and Aileen Sabin Allgood. Glen served in the 341st Bomber Squadron, 97th Bomb Group, U.S. Army Air Corps, in World War II, serving in the North African and Italian campaigns as a tailgunner on a B-17. He flew on 34 missions and was in Italy at war's end. Glen was a patriot all his life. He loved his country and served it well. He was a former resident of Lake Charles and was a graduate of Lake Charles High School, where he was on the 1939 football team as a center and as a linebacker. His close friend and teammate was Alvin Dark, quarterback. Glen was a graduate of LSU with a degree in business administration. He was a loyal alumnus and an avid LSU sports fan, especially Tiger football. He had the same seats in Tiger stadium for more than 50 years. He operated Allgood Sales Co. as a manufacturer's representative. Memorial service at Trinity Episcopal Church, Baton Rouge, at noon Saturday, June 7, with visitation in the Common Room beginning at 11 a.m. The Venerable Charles de Gravelles will officiate and the Rev. Karen Gay will co-officiate.

He married twice. He married Jane Marietta Lewis. Jane was born July 25, 1922. Jane was the daughter of Charles Walter Lewis and Elizabeth Roulston. Jane died September 22, 1970.
