He married Rachel Jane higgins September 6, 1866 in Rockville, Parke Co., IN. Rachel was born March 22, 1847 in Rockville, Parke Co., IN. Rachel died October 12, 1935 in Clinton Twp, Vermillion, IN. Charles served in Company I, 43rd Reginent of the Indiana Infantry Volunteers.

Edna was the daughter of Samuel Smith and Ella Delph (___). Edna died April 15, 2008 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN. OBIT: Edna Smith Allgood Harrison 100, Indianapolis, passed away April 15, 2008. She was born April 9, 1908 in Manchester, KY, to Samual and Ella Delph Smith. Edna was married to Elmer Allgood, until his death and was then married to Lee Harrison who also preceded her in death. She was in property management for Reading Realty for 12 years, retiring in 1965. Edna was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of Moose Lodge, #11. Visitation will be Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Shirley Brothers Drexel Chapel, 4565 E. 10th Street from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Edna is survived by her brother, Stanley E.; sister-in-law, Mary E. Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
