She married Edward Eugene Duvick June 29, 1952 in Flora, Clay Co., IL. Edward was born February 20, 1929 in Sandwich, Dekalb Co., IL. Edward was the son of Nelson Duvick and Florence Appel. Edward died December 20, 2006 in Sandwich, Dekalb Co., IL. Obit: Edward E. Duvick, 77, of Sandwich, Illinois passed away, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at his home. He was born February 20, 1929 in Sandwich, Illinois, the son of Nelson and Florence (Appel) Duvick. While attending the University of Illinois, he met Dorothy G. Baity and married her on June 29, 1952 in Flora Methodist Church in Flora, IL. He and Dorothy lived briefly in Taylorville and Tremont, IL before moving back to Sandwich to begin a farming career, which would span over 50 years. Edward was an active member of the United Church of Sandwich participating in the United Methodist Men and choir as well as serving on various church committees. He enjoyed his family, attending grandchildren’s music, sporting and academic events, researching family genealogy, and rekindling relationships with Norwegian relatives. Dorothy died March 29, 2000 after nearly 48 years of marriage. His recent years were enriched by his friendship with family friend, Phyllis Davis.
He is survived by his children, Sarah (Jerre) Stevens of Sandwich, IL, Carol (John) Patton of Wilkesboro, NC, Eric (Jamie) Duvick of Sandwich, IL, Paul (Debbie) Duvick of Bakersfield, CA, Rolf (Ami) Duvick of Ames, IA, and Barbara (William) Fisher of Bloomington, IL; nineteen grandchildren, Derek and Scott Rogers, Mary and James Patton, Danielle, Caleb, Micah, and Jeremy Duvick, Eddie, Janese, Mandy, and Ally Duvick, Luke, Levi, Lisa-Grace, Mark, Adam and Alyssa Duvick, and John Fisher; one great grandchild, Lucy Morris; two brothers, Jack (Darlene) Duvick of Tipton, IN and Richard (Donna) Duvick of Sylvania, OH; two sisters-in-law, Selma Duvick of Johnston, IA and Doris Adomatis of North Palm Beach, FL; one brother-in-law, Ralph (Judy) Baity of Flora, IL; several nieces and nephews and friend, Phyllis Davis of Sandwich, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother, Donald and one son-in-law, Steven E. Rogers DDS.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the United Church of Sandwich, IL with the Reverend Noah R. Panlilio officiating. Burial will follow in Norway Cemetery, Norway, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at the Turner Funeral Home, Somonauk, IL. Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Sandwich.
