OBIT: Mr. Calvin Coles Allgood, 85, passed away on Friday May 5, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County, NC, July 18, 1931, the son of the late John Robert and Lilly Groce Allgood. Calvin was a veteran of the US Army. He worked in manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Laura Lee Childress Allgood of the home, one daughter, Loretta Gayle Mastin (Roger) of Winston Salem and one grandson Shane. The visitation with family will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday May 8, at Mackie Sinclair Hawkins Chapel. The Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday May 9, at Mackie Sinclair Hawkins Chapel. Interment with military honors will be at Turners Creek Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.
He married Laura Lee Childress October 23, 1954 in Yadkin Co., NC. Laura was born July 9, 1937 in Yadkin Co., NC. Laura was the daughter of Willie Monroe Childress and Maude Weaer. Laura died November 19, 2018 in Yadkinville, Yadkin Co., NC.
