She married William Gilchrist October 28, 1875 in Schaller, Sac Co., IA. William was born November 1853 in Keokuk, Warren Co., IA. William died aft 1930. The 1900 census shows Emily and William having had 11 children with only 7 living at the time.

Emily Jane Allgood and William Gilchrist had the following children:

+ 2314 i. Ivy Esther⁷ Gilchrist was born February 12,1877.

+ 2315 ii. Leslie Earl Gilchrist was born December 8, 1884.

2316 iii. Birdie A. Gilchrist was born in Mahaska Co., IA April 1887. Birdie died April 11, 1909 in Mahaska Co., IA. She married Henry Gustavus Hedlund January 2, 1909. Henry was born August 17, 1889 in Rose Hill, Mahaska Co., IA. WW I Draft Registration says 1888 Henry was the son of Andrew Hedllund and Christina Charlotte Larson.

Henry died August 1979 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA. In 1910 Henry was widowed and living with his parents.

2317 iv. Sarah E. Gilchrist was born in Mahaska Co., IA May 1889.

+ 2318 v. Edna Wilda Rilla Gilchrist was born July 11 1891.

+ 2319 vi. George Iris Gilchrist was born April 9, 1893.

2320 vii. Louis E. Gilchrist was born in Schaller, Sac Co., IA March 18, 1897. Louis died December 1, 1982 in San Jose, Santa Clara Co., CA. In 1920 Louis was living with George and his family. In 1930 Louis was the only person living with his father, widowed.
