2583. Vyril Georgia7 Applegate (Desta Laderna6 Allgood, George Wade5, Charles B.4, Edward3, William2 Algood, Edward1 Allgood) was born in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE August 1, 1910. Vyril died September 6, 2005 in Seward, NE. Obit: Georgia Vyril (Applegate) Adams, 95, Seward, formerly of Peru, Neb., died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at the Sunderman Home in Seward, where she had resided for the past 11 years. She was born Aug. 1, 1910, at Peru, the daughter of Everett and Desta (Allgood) Applegate. She received her education in the Peru school, and after graduation, taught at a country school near there for several years. On May 20, 1931, she married Carl Adams in Rockport, Mo. He died in 1991. She had worked with the Peru Public School hot lunch program for several years, and was an active member of the Peru Christian Church, serving as Sunday School superintendent, deacon, with the Women's Fellowship group and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors: daughter, Barbara McMullen and husband Gailen of Beatrice; son, Dr. Marshall Adams and wife Volene of Sun City West, Ariz.; grandchildren, Gail Mann and husband Greg of Beatrice, Carla McMullen and friend Dale Berg of Blair, Tamara Weichel and husband Jon of Beatrice, Kim Widler of Wichita, Kan., Tim Adams and wife Jackie of Desert Hills, Ariz.; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ellen Allgood of Nebraska City, Jane Henning of Peru; brother, Sidney Applegate of Glenrock, Wyo.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Desta (Allgood) Applegate; husband, Carl (1991); brothers, Earl, Marion, Robert and Stacy; sisters, Ruth Gfeller and Margaret Magnal.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th St., Auburn, the Rev. Frank Zimmerman officiating. Burial: Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Peru, Neb. Visitation from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Hall Funeral Chapel, Auburn, in charge of arrangements.
She married Carl Edgar Adams May 20, 1931 in Rockport, MO. Carl was born March 11, 1906. Carl died November 21, 1991.
