She married Virgil Grover Cleveland Baity JR Jjuly 5, 1947. Virgil was born September 16, 1921 in Moxksville, Davidson Co., NC. Virgil was the son of Virgil Grover Cleveland Baity and Bessie Louetta Alford. Virgil died December 12, 2001 in Thomasville, Davidson Co., NC. OBIT: Mr. Grover C. "Bud" Baity Jr., 80, a resident of Britthaven of Davidson Nursing Home and formerly of Duke Street, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at the nursing home.
He was born in Thomasville Sept. 16, 1921, a son of Grover C. Baity and Bessie Alford Baity and was a lifelong resident of Thomasville.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps. veteran of World War II. He was a former member of the Davidson County Civil Air Patrol and a licensed pilot. From 1947 to 1972, he was a co-owner of B&B Self Service and from 1972 to 1984 he was the owner and operator of Bud's Exxon on Fisher Ferry Street. He was a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
On July 5, 1947, he was married to Miss Dorothy Lee Atwood, who died Sept. 20, 1996. Surviving are two sons, Virgil Dale Baity and wife Faye and Rick Baity and wife Bonnie, all of Thomasville; and a sister, Mrs. Lindsay (Lillian) Leonard of Thomasville. Also surviving are four grand-children, Braxton Baity, Brian Baity, Meredith Baity and Amanda Baity.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sat-urday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by Dr. Joe Coltrane. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
