Gary died April 20, 2010 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA. OBIT: Gary Ronald Allgood, 65, of Oskaloosa died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born on December 17, 1944, in Mahaska County, the son of Ronald and Phyllis Clopton Allgood. Following high school he went to work for Groom’s Brothers Construction in Ottumwa. On June 15, 1974 he was united in marriage to Barbara Wymore in Ottumwa. In 1970 he went to work at Pella Corp. he retired from there in 1998. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, mushroom hunting, yard work, gardening and he delighted in his kids and grandchildren. He was a former member of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge.
His family includes his wife, Barbara Allgood of Oskaloosa; 3 sons: Robert “Bob” (& Beth) Brown and Bill (& Lisa) Brown both of Oskaloosa, and Gary Wayne Allgood of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter: Samantha (& Jamie) Bossard of Oskaloosa; 8 grandchildren: Kandice (& Bryan) Youngstrom, Seth Brown, Kyle Brown, Trent Brown, Kaleb Brown, Cody Bossard, Cole Bossard, and Chloe Bossard; 3 great grandchildren: Bryleigh and Brookelyn Youngstrom and Ayden Plumb; his mother: Phyllis Allgood; a sister: Cindy (& Rocky Martin) Meyers of Oskaloosa; a brother: Rick Allgood of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister: Diana Noe.
His body has been cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Bates Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Gary Allgood Memorial Fund.
