Laymon died July 8, 2005 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau Co., MO. Obit: Laymon A. Allgood, age 87, of Cape Girardeau, MO,
passed away July 28, 2005 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born March 19, 1917 near Sank, MO, son of Joseph
and Mae Eaker Allgood. He and Helen Henraetta Eaker were married on June 29, 1940 on Clubb Creek near Sank, MO and she preceded him in death
on October 25, 2004. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church since 1960 having served in many offices of the
church. He was a member and the first Worshipful Master of the Harold O. Grauel Masonic lodge # 672 of Cape Girardeau, a 33rd. degree member
of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, a member of the York Rite and had served the Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand Lecturer and
District Deputy Grand Master, also served for over 25 years as the secretary of the Capaha Scottish Rite Club of Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Allgood served his country proudly as an investigator with the Counter Intelligence Corps of the United States Army during
WWII. Survivors include; two sons, Richard and Roger Allgood both of Cape Girardeau, three grand children; Anne Allgood, Joseph
Allgood and Jeff McGuire, three great grandchildren; Blake Aaron Allgood, Logan Andrew McGuire and Taylor Anne Elisabeth Hendrix.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from
5:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, July 31, 2005 with a Masonic service at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Monday after 9:00 AM
at the Grace United Methodist Church on Broadway in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 AM at the Grace
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Moon officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Dry Creek Cemetery near
Marble Hill with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors Team and the American Legion Post # 63 of Cape Girardeau.
He married Helen Henraetta Eaker June, 29, 1940 in Sank, Bollinger Co., MO. Married on Clubb
Creek, near Sank, MO
Helen was born September 2, 1921 in Huxie, Bollinger Co., MO. Helen was the daughter of Erven E. Eaker and Alma
Stamms. Helen died October 25, 2004 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau Co., MO. Obit: Helen H. Allgood, 83, of Cape Girardeau
died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital, She was born Sept. 2, 1921, at Huxie, Mo., daughter of Irven E. and
Alma Stamms Eaker. She and Laymon A. Allgood were married June 29, 1940, at Sank, Mo. Allgood was a member of Grace United
Methodist Church, Cape Rock Chapter of Eastern Star and White Shrine. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard and Roger
Allgood of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo., from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, and Friday at Grace United Methodist
Church from 9 a.m. until time of service. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Virgil Bunch and
Scott Moon officiating. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery near Marble Hill.
