He married Mary Pauline McDaniel August 10, 1935. Mary was born September 11, 1916 in McLean Co., KY. Mary was the daughter of Lawrence Edward McDaniel and Mary Alice Drury. Mary died May 29, 2014 in Owensboro, Daviess Co., KY. OBIT: Mary Pauline Algood 97, of Island, Kentucky, formerly of Calhoun died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mary Pauline McDaniel was born September 11, 1916 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Lawrence Edward and Minnie Alice Drury McDaniel and was married to John Wilbur Algood. She was a homemaker and family caretaker. Pauline was a member of Beech Grove Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as church pianist for more than 50 years and was currently worshiping at Island United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting and working her word and jigsaw puzzles. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John W. Algood, who died June 29, 2000; by a granddaughter, Cynthia Ann Cobb; and by a grandson, Jay Algood.
Survivors include a son, John T. Algood of Calhoun; a daughter, Jo Ann Everly and husband, Raleigh of Island; four grandchildren, Tom Algood, Danny Cobb, Dana White, and Krista Taylor; and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Graham and the Rev. Ken Berggren officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Pauline's family from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
