Geraldine died October 12, 2004 in Quincy, Adams Co., IL. OBIT: Geraldine Mayfield Hanson, age 98 of 2130 Harrison Quincy, IL, and formerly of 2200 Maine, Quincy, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 12:44 pm in Good Samaritan Home. She was born January 24, 1906 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard and Adeline Brammell Blacketter. On July 21, 1926 she married Charles Allan Mayfield, and he preceded her in death August 28, 1954. She married Harold Hanson January 22, 1979 in Quincy, and he preceded her in death in August of 1994.
She was a graduate of Payson Seymour High School and a member of Payson Avenue Christian Community Church. She worked in the office of the Christian Day School in California for 22 years.
Surviving are 2 sons, Norman Mayfield and his wife Lynda of San Dimas, CA, Gene Mayfield and his wife Joan of Phoenix, AZ; 3 daughters, Marilyn Phillips and her husband Charles of Quincy, IL, Rita Houchin and her husband Dean of Castiac, CA, Ruth Ann Faria and her husband Richard of San Ramon, CA; 12 grandchildren, Ray Mayfield of Nipomo, CA, Vicki Schaffnit and her husband Bruce of Payson, IL, Steven Mayfield and his wife Kelly of San Dimas, CA, Scott Mayfield, CA, Kathi Friye and her husband David of Quincy, Christine Mayfield of Sunland, CA, Teresa Schmitt and her husband Michael of Hinsdale, IL, Patrick Mayfield and his wife Melanie of Glendale, AZ, Joey Phillips and his wife Philena, Quincy, Brent Houchin of Saugus, CA, Christopher Houchin and his wife Amy of Santa Clarita, CA, Jamie Paye and her husband Tony of Castaic, CA; 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Barbara Mayfield of Nipomo, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Neal, a grandson, 2 sisters, Mildred and Glenna, and 2 great great grandchildren..
Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, October 20, 2004 Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home
She married twice. She married Allen C. Mayfield 1926. Allen was born Decemberr 26, 1903 in IL. Allen was the son of Charley Mayfield and Olive (___). Allen died August 28,1954 in Quincy, Adams Co., IL. She married Harold Walter Hanson January 22,1979 in Quincy, Adams Co., IL. Harold was born May 18, 1908 in IL. Harold was the son of Albert Lee Hanson and Grace B Simmons. Harold died August 3, 1994 in Quincy, Adams Co., IL.
