Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Western Electric.
Eugene is survived by his son, Dale Allgood; daughters, Linda and Nancy Allgood; 2 stepdaughters, Judy (Bill) Hopkins and Paulette (Bill) Slevin; 7 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his first wife, Audrey (Booth) Allgood; wife, Jewel (Elmore) Allgood; and son Mark E. Allgood.
Services will be at 11:30 AM, June 30, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
He married twice. He married Audrey Mae Booth. Audrey was born May 13,1929. Audrey died February 1995 in Greenfield, Hancock Co., IN. He married Katherine Jewel Elmore Kinslow January 18, 1997. Katherine was born October 2, 1925 in Glasgow, KY. Katherine was the daughter of Austin Kinslow and Elizabeth Bridges. Katherine died April 7, 2011 in Greenwood, IN. OBIT: Jewel Elmore Allgood, 85 passed away April 7, 2011. She was a resident of Greenwood. She was born October 2, 1925 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Austin and Elizabeth (Bridges) Kinslow. She married Truman E. Elmore on November 7, 1943 and he preceded her. She later married Eugene A. Allgood on November 18, 1998 and he survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Judy (Bill) Hopkins of New Palestine and Paulette (Bill) Slevin of Greenwood; a brother, William Kinslow of Franklin; a sister, Alice Powell of Greenfield; five grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary D. Steenbergan.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Glasgow, Kentucky. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing BINGO.
Eugene Arthur Allgood and Audrey Mae Booth had the following children:
