2185. John A.⁷ Allgood (Edmond (Edward)⁶, Phillip⁵, Edmund⁴, Edward³, William² Algood, Edward¹ Allgood) was born in Washington Co., IN August 17, 1869. John died February 8, 1961 in Monroe Co., IN. OBIT: John Allgood, 92, retired cabinet maker for Fulwider Lumber Co. here, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Clarence, 2419 Arlington Rd.

A native of Washington County, Allgood was a member of the Christian Church and the Knights of Pythias Lodge.

He is survived by a second son, Leslie, of Michigan City; one daughter, Mrs. Fred Heitger of Bloomington; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Chase and Mrs. Horace Stiler, both of St. Petersburg, Fla; 15 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

His wife, Laura, preceded him in death in 1942.

Funeral will be 2 p. m. Friday at the Allen Funeral Home. The Rev. Clyde Sciscoe will officiate.

Grandsons will be pallbearers. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

He married Laura A. Johnson 1894. Laura was born March 17, 1874 in Whitestown, Boone Co., IN. Laura was the daughter of John Sandy Johnson and Nancy Jane (___). Laura died January 28, 1942 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., IN.

John A. Allgood and Laura A. Johnson had the following children:

+ 7078 ii. Clarence Frederick Allgood was born September 3, 1897.

+ 7079 iii. Edna P. Allgood was born February 25, 1901.
