She married Hollis F. Smith. Hollis was born December 21, 1913. Hollis was the son of Forrest Smith and Sally Watts. Hollis died August 5, 2006 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Hollis F. Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. today, Aug. 7, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Mr. Smith, 92, died Aug. 5, 2006, at Haven Hall Health Care Center in Brookhaven. He was born on Dec. 21, 1913, to Forrest Smith and Sally Watts Smith.

He was a retired gas truck driver for Brookhaven Equipment. He was a member and inactive deacon of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Verna Marie Allgood Smith; his son, Ted Smith; and his brothers, Robert Smith and Willard Smith.

Survivors are his sons and their wives, Lamar and Ann Smith, of Gonzales, La., John Garry and JoBeth Smith, of Monticello, and Mike and Susan Smith, of Gonzales, La.; his sister, Vera Ballard, of Brookhaven; his special friend and caretaker, Ruth Prather; and his seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Verna Marie Allgood and Hollis F. Smith had the following children:
