Edith died December 20, 2006 in Copiah Co., MS. OBIT: Edith Elise Prestridge, 88, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital. Visitation is 1-3 p.m. today at Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs. Funeral services are 3 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel with burial in the Riverwood Memorial Park.Mrs. Prestridge retired from Prestridge's Department Store which she owned with her husband. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs. In the past, she was a member of the Golden Choir, Joy Club, taught 2nd graders in Sunday School, and was a member of WMU. Mrs. Prestridge was reared in Brookhaven, the daughter of Prentiss and Dora Allgood. She is preceded in death by her parents, along with six brothers and sisters: Myron Allgood, Elton Allgood, Herman Allgood, Clyde Allgood, Ruby Smith, and Vera Smith. Survivors include: her husband for 66 wonderful years, Millard Ray Prestridge; daughters, Barbara Lack of Crystal Springs and Miriam Harper and husband Lonnie Lee Harper of Raymond; grandchildren, Tonja L. Holland and husband Gene Holland of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Clint Lack and wife Robin Lack of Raymond; Tate Harper and wife Marnie Harper of Horn Lake; great-grandchildren Eric Howell, Keri Howell, Travis Holland, Cody Lack, Reilly Kate Lack, Hunter Harper and Garrett Harper; and many nieces and nephews.

She married Millard Ray (Pres) Prestridge 1944. Millard was born June 28, 1915. Millard was the son of Wiley Boyanton and Mollie (___). Millard died February 7, 2010 in Copiah Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Millard Ray "Pres" Prestridge, of Crystal Springs, are 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at Stringer Family Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal Springs, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park in Brookhaven. Visitation is Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Prestridge, 94, died Feb. 7, 2010, at Copiah Living Center. He was born in Norfield on June 28, 1915, to Wiley and Mollie Boyanton Prestridge. The family later moved to Bogue Chitto, where he graduated from high school. After graduation he began work with F.W. Woolworth where he was employed when he met and married his wife of almost 67 years, Edith Allgood. He worked with Woolworth at various locations in several states before joining the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his military service, he went into the clothing business with the late J.C. Piper, and eventually purchased the department store in Crystal Springs known as Prestridge's. He and his wife were in business for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Crystal Springs First Baptist Church, where in the past he was a deacon, on various committees, Sunday school director, Sunday school teacher, department director, usher, and a member of the Golden Choir. He was also a Mason for more than 50 years, and a writer of poetry, of which two books have been published. He wrote the poem "The End of the Way," which will be read at his funeral. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith Allgood Prestridge; and brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Nita Faye Prestridge. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Lack, of Crystal Springs, and Miriam Harper and husband Lonnie, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; his grandchildren, Tonja Lack Holland and husband Gene, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Clint Lack, of Raymond, Tate Harper and wife Marnie, of Red Banks; his great-grandchildren, Erick Howell, Keri Howell and Travis Holland, all of Ft. Walton Beach, Cody Lack and Reilly Kate Lack, of Raymond, Hunter Harper and Garrett Harper, of Red Banks; and his sister Dot Anderegg and husband Jack, of Brandon; and several nieces and nephews.

Edith Elsie Allgood and Millard Ray (Pres) Prestridge had the following children:
