Garland died November 3, 2000 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Garland Allen of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 5, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Allen, 88, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, of respiratory failure at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on July 7, 1912, to Hubert and Estelle Chandler Allen.

He was retired after 11 years at Jacobson Lawn Mower Company and 25 years with Southern Wholesale Company. He was a member of Pearl Haven Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served in the European Theatre.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Virgle and Amel Allen; nephew, Earl Anderson Allen; and two sisters-in-law, Rosie Allen and Lizzie Allen.

Survivors are his wife, Winnie Watson Allen; sons, Charles Leroy Allen and William Michael Allen, all of Brookhaven; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He married Winnie Belle Watson. Winnie was born August 21, 1921. Winnie was the daughter of William Leon Watson and Katie Case. Winnie died April 11, 2001 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Winnie Watson Allen of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Friday, April 13, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-10 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen, 79, died April 11, 2001, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 21, 1921, to William Leon Watson and Katie Case Watson.

She was retired from Stahl Urban. She was a member of Pearlhaven Baptist Church

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Garland Allen; her sister, Nancy Elizabeth Allen; her brothers, John Abner and Willie Watson; and an infant brother.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Leroy and Connie Allen and William Michael and Agnes Allen, all of Brookhaven; her brother, John L. Emerson of Brookhaven; her sister, Maude Alice Prishmont of Brookhaven; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Garland Leroy Allen and Winnie Belle Watson had the following children:
