OBIT: Services for Mavis Anding Smith, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, Jackson Street location, with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith, 88, died Aug. 11, 2007, at Brook Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 15, 1918, to Johnston Anding and Eunice Case Anding. She was retired from Kellwood Co. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Edgar Lee Smith; two grandchildren, Kathy Lynn Smith and Leonard Donivan Smith; her sister, Yvonne Boyte; and her brother, Carlos Anding. Survivors are her sons, Leonard Smith and wife Connie, of Wesson, Leland Smith and wife Dorothy, of Brookhaven, Darrell Smith and wife Geraldine, of Brookhaven; her brothers, Denver Anding and Dallas Anding, both of Brookhaven; her sister, Eva Nations, of Brookhaven; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 15 step great-grandchildren._

She married Edgar Lee Smith October 31, 1936 in Lincoln Co., MS. Edgar was born July 8, 1916 in Lincoln Co., MS. Edgar died April 18, 2003 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Edgar Lee Smith of Wesson are 11 a.m., Monday, April 21, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 4-9 p.m. and Monday from 8-10:30 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Mr. Smith, 86, died April 18, 2003, at Beverly Health Care. He was born in Lincoln County on July 8, 1916, to Allen Smith Sr. and Ada Smith Smith. He was retired from Keystone Wire. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his grandchildren, Lenord Donivan Smith and Kathy Lynn Smith. Survivors are his wife, Mavis Anding Smith of Brookhaven; his sons, Leland Smith, Leonard L. Smith, and Darrell G. Smith, all of Brookhaven; his brothers, Elmer Smith and Allen Smith Jr., both of Brookhaven; his sisters, Edith Case and Ethel McMillan, both of Brookhaven; and four grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mavis Anding and Edgar Lee Smith had the following children:

41211 iii. Darrell Glenn Smith was born in Lincoln Co., MS May 9, 1944. Darrell died April 4, 2013 in Lawrence Co., MS. OBIT: Funeral services for Darrell Glen Smith of Brookhaven were 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Fair River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 68, died April 4, 2013 at Lawrence County Nursing Center. He was born in Brookhaven on May 9, 1944 to Edgar Lee Smith and Mavis Anding Smith.

He was an inspector at Keystone-Seneca Wire Cloth Co. and a member of Fair River Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; in-laws, Conway and Louise Foster Carlisle; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kingsmill, Sue Smith and Christine Smith; three nieces, Kathy Lynn Smith, Mary LeAnne and Wendy Carol Kingsmill; and nephew, Donavan Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Smith; brothers, Leland Smith and wife, Dorothy, of Brookhaven and Leonard Smith and wife, Connie, of Brookhaven; brother-in-law, Vern Kingsmill of Baytown, Texas; sisters-in-law, Lavenia Townsend and husband, David, of Baytown, Texas, and Crickett Carlisle and husband, Jimmie Wilkerson, of Brookhaven; nieces and nephews, Beth Burns Schlauch and husband, Wes, of Baytown, Texas, Anita Burns Boyd and husband, Chris, of Brookhaven, Rebecca Smith Baker and Donnie of Brookhaven, Wanda Sue Smith Moncrif and husband, Jeff, of Brandon, Duane Smith of Brookhaven, Wendell Smith and wife, Sherry, of Wesson, James Kingsmill and wife, Deborah, of Baytown, Texas, Kevin Townsend and wife, Diane, of Kansas City, Mo., and Davida Townsend Rosser and husband, Beau, of Highlands, Texas; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews; and aunt, Eva Nations. Other survivors are his second family of Lawrence County Nursing Center and the wonderful staff who were so good to him, along with special people in his life, Mary and Junior Posey, and many other special friends and relatives.

He married Geraldine Carlisle May 6, 1966 in Lincoln Co., MS.

Geraldine was born Septembe 15, 1945 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co, MS. Geraldine was the daughter of John Conway Carlisle and Mary Louise Foster. Geraldine died March 18, 2010.
