Norton and Ruby Griffin Norton. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was a retired oil field supply worker. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, Juanita Sandifer; and his brothers, Carl Norton, Paul Norton, Ralph Norton and Robert Norton.

Survivors are his wife, Gwendolyn Allen Norton of Brookhaven; his son, Daniel Keith Norton of Denham Springs, La.; his brothers, John Norton of Brookhaven, and Noel Norton of Morgan City, La.; and two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He married Gwendolyn Allen February 24, 1960 in Livingston, Sumter Co., AL. Gwendolyn was born April 22, 1940 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Gwendolyn was the daughter of Virgil Lamar Allen and Rosa (Rosie) Walker. Gwendolyn died April 20, 2012 in Ridgeland, Madison Co., MS. OBIT: Funeral services for Gwendolyn Allen Norton, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, at Macedonia Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Jackson Street is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Norton, 71, died April 20, 2012, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was born in Brookhaven on April 20, 1940, to Virgil and Rosa Walker Allen.

She was a bank officer for First National Bank of Denham Springs, La.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Jere B. Norton.

Survivors are her son, Daniel K. Norton and wife, Denise, of Denham Springs, La.; sister, Mildred Britt, of Brookhaven; two grandchildren, Samantha Cassels and Rebecca Norton; and two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Cassels and Presley Cassels.

Jere Bruce Norton and Gwendolyn Allen had the following child:
