John died July 24, 2008 in Peoria, Peoria Co., IL. OBIT: John D. "Jack" Allgood, 70, of Delavan died at 9:01 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
He was born May 17, 1938, in Pekin to Raymond and Alice Hazelman Allgood. He married Janice Pomrenke on Aug. 30, 1958, in Delavan, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Mary) Allgood of Altona and Keith (Sherri) Allgood of Delavan; two daughters, Kathy (John) Dorsey of Delavan and Karen (Rob) Marlatt of Armington; and nine grandchildren, Nicole, Austin, Corey, Cassandra, Christopher, Chelsea, Julie, Jason and Jena.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Carson.
Jack was employed as an electrician at Caterpillar Inc. for 35 years, retiring in 1991. After retirement, he served as an electrical inspector for the village of Delavan for several years.
He was a former Boy Scouts leader and volunteered his time to various community activities. His hobbies included collecting die-cast model toy tractors, spending time tinkering in his garage and traveling.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at Davis Mortuary, Delavan Chapel. The Rev. Fr. Gerald Verdun will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the mortuary. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Delavan. Tazewell Co., IL
