6598 iv. Lura Loucelle Hale was born in Dawson Co., TX April 18, 1922. Lura died September 15,2012 in Odessa, Ector Co., TX. OBIT: Lura Loucelle Whisenhunt, 80, of Andrews passed away early Saturday Morning September 15, 2012 at Hospice House in Odessa.
Loucelle was born April 18, 1922 to John Hale and Essie Allgood Hale in Lamesa, Texas. Loucelle was a math whiz and she used those skills daily while working at Lavelle's Variety store and the Piggly Wiggly Grocery store in Lamesa. It was there that she met the brother of the man that would become the love of her life. Loucelle married John Henry Whisenhunt of Muleshoe, May 22, 1972. For John and Loucelle it was truly the beginning of a love without end.
Loucelle was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church in Lamesa Muleshoe and Andrews. Without fail she would find a church home in every place she moved and she was in service every time the doors were open. She loved to Cook and Sew although she couldn't do either as much as she would have liked due to arthritis in her hands but whenever she could manage to cook, sew or embroider something you always knew that it came from her heart out through her hands.
Loucelle was preceded in death by her parents John and Essie Hale, sisters Myrtle Goodson, Beulah Adams and Bertie Goodson and the loved of her life, John Whisenhunt or "Uncle John". In addition to the many friends made over her eighty years.
She is survived by her nephew, Jerry Don Adams and wife Norma of Lamesa; Nieces Joyce Adams of Arlington, Laqueta Hyatt and husband Tommy of Midland, Debra Mayes and husband Kenny of Odessa as well as several great- nieces and nephews and even more great-great=niece and nephews.
She married John Henry Whisenhunt May 22,1972 in Dawson Co., TX.
John was born June 14, 1923. John died December 9, 2003.
