6590. Irene Ida7 Allgood (Fines Alvin6, Manley H.5, Manley H.4, John3, Ishmael2, Edward1) was born in Brown Co., TX October 28, 1925. Irene died May 9, 2009 in Granbury, Hood Co., TX. OBIT: Irene Allgood Holland went to be with her Lord May 6, 2009 at her home in Granbury. Funeral services were Saturday May 9, 2009, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Interment was at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Irene was born to Finis and Ila May Dunn Allgood Oct. 28, 1925 in May. When she was two years old she moved with her family to Brownwood. On Dec. 24, 1948 Irene married Dillard Holland in Brownwood. She and Dillard lived in Midland, Texas where she owned and operated a children's day care center. For the past 25 years they have made their home in Grandbury. Irene and Dillard are members of the Action Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of the Parent-Teacher's Association. Irene is survived by her loving husband of sixty years Dillard Holland of Grandbury; a son Craig and his wife Robbin Holland of Midland; and a daughter Deborah Holland of Granbury. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Camber Holland, Brandon and Randall Boiles. Irene is survived by a sister, Edna Allgood Word Sparkman; one brother, Eual "Bud" Allgood and a host of nieces and nephews. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be missed by her family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Mission Hospice

She married Dillard Allison Holland December 24, 1948 in Brownwood, Brown Co., TX. Dillard was born October 16, 1922 in Coleman Co., TX. Dillard died April 12, 2010 in Granbury, Hood Co., TX. OBIT: Dillard A. Holland, age 87 of Granbury and formerly of Midland and Brownwood, died Monday night at his home in Granbury. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with Brother Glenn Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 [150] 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home Mr. Holland was born Oct. 16, 1922 in the Buffalo community in Coleman County, the son of the late Raymond and Bessie Green Holland. He attended Howard Payne College and served in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He married Irene Allgood in Brownwood on Dec. 24, 1948. She preceded him in death in 2009. He worked as branch manager for Weakley-Watson's in Midland, and later for Morrison Supply. He has lived in Granbury since 1984 and served as the Chief of Security at Pecan Plantation Estates on Lake Granbury. He was a member of the Acton Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Craig Holland and his wife Robin of Midland, a daughter, Deborah Holland of Granbury, two brothers [150] Rex Holland of Midland and Willburn Holland of Brownwood, two sisters [150] Wanda Jean Middleton of White Settlement and Joyce Dunn of Brandon, Florida, three grandchildren [150] Camber Allison Holland of Midland, Brandon Holland of Granbury and Randall Boiles of Benbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, Wayne, Aubrey, Lonnie Merle, and Ralph Dee (Buddy) Holland and a sister, Rita Fay Holland.
