OBIT: Mary Sue Campbell, 65, died May 26, 2000. Services will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church in Mangum at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May
30. Officiation will be Rev. Elbert Shumaker and Rev. Margaret Marcy. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. Greer Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
She was born October 2, 1934 in Mangum to Carl and Oleta Allgood. She attended Mangum High School and graduated from the University of
Oklahoma with a degree in Speech Therapy. She worked as a teacher for the Houston Council for Mentally Retarded Children and later, as a
teacher and director for Acorn Children's Center in Oklahoma City. She was a tireless advocate for children and a therapeutic foster mother
for many children through the Department of Human Services. She was a devoted to her family and her religion.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, her parents, and a sister, Linda. Survivors include a brother, Carl Wayne Allgood, Sr. and
wife Mary of Vernon, Texas; son Ron Wright and wife Cathy and children Jason, Justin, and Christopher of Edmond; daughter Tiffany Brooks and
husband Michael and their children Terra Wright, Danielle Andrews, Katie and Brodie Brooks of Norman; sister-in-law Alice of Altus and
brother-in-law Don of Granite; several nieces and nephews.
She married twice. She married Dan D. Campbell. Dan was born August 17, 1936. Dan died
March 23, 1992 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., OK. She married Ronald William Wright September
23, 1953. Ronald is the son of Wilma Taylor.
