He was born in Breckinridge County, KY on September 13, 1950, the son of the late Jesse Hobart Allgood, Sr. and Ada Pauline Courtly. He was a truck driver and member of the Teamsters. David enjoyed pulling horses, coon hunting and raising rabbits.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David, brothers - Jesse and James Earl and stepsister - Anna Marie

David is survived by his wife Melissa Collins Allgood of LaGrange, KY 5 children: David Allgood, Jr. of Utica, KY Jason Allgood (Christal) of Utica, KY Leah Basham (Wesley) of Leitchfield, KY Jennifer DeMott (Kurt) of Moultrie, GA Amanda Litch (Trevor) of Georgetown, IN 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild 3 brothers: Allen, Joey and Rex 1 sister: Candy 2 stepbrothers: Jimmie and Ernest Everett 3 stepsisters: Mary Alice, Fongie and Juanita

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 1 PM CST with Bro. Mac Sosh officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 4-8 PM CST and after 8:30 AM CST on Friday.

He married four times. He married Betty A. Miller. He married Frances Thomas. He married Ruth A Igleheart September 14,1968 in Sumner Co., TN. Ruth was born May 17,1949 in Daviess Co., KY. Ruth is the daughter of Dora Jones.

David Lee Allgood and Ruth A Igleheart had the following children:
