13598. Merle (Bud) Dennis8 Keeton (Charles Baufman7, Polk6, Charles Wesley5, John Murrel4, Nancy Ann3 Allgood, Moses2, Edward1) was born April 25, 1932. Merle died March 17, 2009 in Oak Harbor, Island Co., WA. OBIT: Merle Keeton went to be with the Lord on March 17th, 2009.

He was born April 25, 1932 in Wapato Washington, to Charles and Kathryn Hargraves Keeton.

He attended schools in Yakima graduating from Yakima High school in 1950.

He was a member of the Washington National Guard from 1949 to 1950. In 1950 he enlisted in the US Air Force. After serving in Korea, he was discharged in 1954 obtaining the rank of Sergeant. In 1954 he worked as an electrical apprenticeship in the Bremerton Naval Yard. In 1956 he went to work for Puget Sound Power and Light Company.

In 1959 he married Geraldine "Gerry" Andrews in Monroe Washington; they were married 48 years. Over the years they lived in Everett, Redmond, Coupeville, Ellensburg, and Mount Vernon. He retired from Puget Power in 1995 and they moved to Whidbey Island. He was a Life time Member of the Moose Lodge #494, Ellensburg and a Life Member of American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gerry; daughter, Kathleen McNamara-Meyer; sisters, Barbara Munroe and Bonnie Munzanreder; and sister-in-law, Darlene Andrews-Whitfield.

He is survived by his son, Robert (Betty), Snoqualmie; son-in-law, Dan Meyer, Olympia; grandchildren, Kelly (Katie) & Christopher Keeton, Megan McNamara, and Laura Meyer; sister, Irene Moen of Yakima; brother, Bruce (Virginia) Keeton, Yakima; sister & brothers-in-law, Barbara (Lowell) Anderson, Monroe, Larry (Bertie) Whitfield, Monroe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was our patriarch--a caring, loyal and intelligent man with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed his friends and neighbors and was always ready to lend a hand. Most of all he was passionate about his family; his love was truly unconditional. He was so proud of them all, all the time. That acceptance will be deeply missed.

Private burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Olympia.

He married Geraldine (Gerry) M. Andrews 1959 in Monroe, WA. Geraldine was born December 7, 1931 in Parks, NI. Geraldine was the daughter of Charles Andrews and Cappi (___). Geraldine died January 12, 2007. OBIT: Geraldine (Gerry) M. Andrews Keeton died Jan. 12, 2007. She was born Dec 7, 1931 in Parks, Neb., to Charles and Cappi Andrews. She attended schools in Monroe, Wash., graduating from Monroe High School in 1951. Following high school she graduated from Everett Business College. In 1959 she married Merle Keeton in Monroe and they had two children, son Robert and daughter Kathleen. She was involved in Cub Scouts and Camp Fire Girls during the years when they lived in Everett, Redmond, Coupeville, Ellensburg, Kirkland, and Mount Vernon. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and all kinds of crafts. She worked for many years on family genealogy. They retired in 1995 and moved to Whidbey Island. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen, her parents, and sister Darlene Whitfield. She is survived by her husband Merle Keeton; son Robert (Betty) of Snoqualmie; son-in-law Dan Meyer, Olympia; grandchildren, Kelly and Christopher Keeton, Megan McNamara and Laura Meyer; sister, Barbara (Lowell) and brother in-law, Larry (Bertie) Whitfield, of Monroe; sister-in-law, Irene Moen of Yakima; brother-in-law Bruce (Virginia), of Yakima; and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be no services at her request.

Merle (Bud) Dennis Keeton and Geraldine (Gerry) M. Andrews had the following children:
