James was born September 21, 1906 in Elbert Co., GA. James was the son of James Willis Craft and Vonnie Thomason. James died July 24, 2005 in Elberton, Elbert Co. GA. OBIT: Jim Tom Craft, 98, died July 24, 2005, at Spring Valley Health Care Center. A native of Elbert County, he was a son of the late James Willis Craft and Vonnie Thomason Craft. He was retired as office manager of Anderson Auto Parts Company. He was a lifelong member of Harmony Baptist Church, where he was active in all phases of the church. He was an ordained deacon for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalee Goss Craft; his second wife, Margie Algood Craft; two brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Lucius and Margaret Craft of Honea Path, S.C., and Reginald and Joyce Craft of Chatsworth; two stepsons, James C. Sorrells of Elberton and Arvid "Sonny" Sorrells of Bennettsville, S.C.; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Kellum officiating. Burial was in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
