OBIT: - Johnnie Brown Ellixson, 85, a resident of 1014 Roycroft Road, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at Durham Regional Hospital. Mr. Ellixson was a native of Granville County, a charter member of Oxford Church of God and was employed at Mt. Hope Finishing Company for fifty years. Surviving are his wife, Maggie West Ellixson of the home; one daughter, Diane E. Leonard (Joseph) of Goldsboro; three sons, Eugene T. Ellixson (Patricia) of Durham, J. David Ellixson (Carrie Lee) of Butner, Michael L. Ellixson of Creedmoor; four grandchildren, Jeffrey T. Ellixson, Contina Hamilton, Toni McCray, and Zachary M. Ellixson. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m., Tuesday evening, at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by the Rev. Don Wadford, the Rev. Milton Abbott, and the Rev. Joseph Leonard. Burial will follow on Wednesday, at 11 a.m., in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the funeral at - Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
