Chester died Mach 19, 2008 in Salt Creek. TX. OBIT: Funeral services for Chester “Bill” Wilford Myrick Sr., age 87, of Salt Creek, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Salt Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Art Allen, Jimmy Mize and Tony King officiating, with interment to follow in Salt Creek Cemetery. He passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in Salt Creek. Davis-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bill was born on March 19, 1920, in Brown County, Texas, to the late Tom and Verdie Myrick.
He married Ruth Balkum on Jan. 14, 1945, in San Angelo, Texas. Bill owned Myrick Trim Shop in Brownwood and had a lifelong love of motorcycles and flying; he was a member of the first generation Hadacol Angels who enjoyed traveling the United States on their bikes. He also had a great love for his children and grandchildren and enjoyed being on the farm his family has owned for over 100 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Candace “Candi” Morris and her husband Bob of McKinney, Texas; a son, C.W. “Hup” Myrick Jr. and wife Annie of Blanket; grandchildren, David Morris and wife Julie of San Diego, Paul Morris and wife Amy of Fate, Texas, Tish Kelley and husband Billy of McKinney, Morisa Myrick of McKinney, Autumn Davis and husband Ken of Park City, Kan., Nicea and husband Ealvin, Gary Funderburg-Atherton and wife Ana of Augusta, Kan., and Cary Funderburg-Atherton and wife Jennifer of Kingmon, Kan.; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Morris, Bryson Kelley, Noah, Nate, Ella and Cheyenne Funderburg-Atherton, and Ashley, Wyatt and Gage Funderburg-Atherton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, a brother, and a sister.preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; a brother; and a sister.
He married Ruthie May Balkum January 14,1945 in San Angelo, Tom Green Co., TX. Ruthie was born September 22. 1928. Ruthie died March 1, 1999 in Brown Co., TX.
Chester Wilford (Bill) Myrick and Ruthie May Balkum had the following children:
