A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens of Washington, NC officiated by Dr. Michael Price and Rev. Carol Dean

The family will receive friends following the service at the First Christian Church of Washington, NC. Mrs. Bass was born on August 14, 1923 to Claude C. Evans and Ruth Meade Evans

She was married to the late Cyril K. Cratch, who preceded her in death on July 15, 1969.

She later married William E. Bass, Jr. who died in November of 1986

As a resident of Washington for most of her life, Mrs. Bass had a lengthy career as an accountant for Beaufort County until her retirement

Afterwards, she enjoyed travelling with friends and was heavily involved with Senior Citizens throughout eastern North Carolina, including being a cheerleader for the Senior Olympics. Mrs. Bass was also a dedicated member of the First Christian Church of Washington, where she served in several voluntary capacities

Mrs. Bass is survived by her sons: Sherald L. Cratch of Greensboro, NC and Kenneth W. Cratch and his wife Beverly of Washington, NC and a grandson; Robert C. Cratch of Greensboro, NC

She married twice. She married William E. Bass JR. William was born November 23, 1920. William died November 1986. She married Cyril Kafer Cratch. Cyril was born December 10,1919. Cyril died July 15, 1969.

Hilda Meade Evans and Cyril Kafer Cratch had the following children:
