Laura died February 26, 2001 in Richmond, Henrico Co., VA. OBIT: Laura Abbott Clark, 66, of 2501 Broad St., Richmond, Va., died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond. She was a Vance County native and the daughter of the late Melvin W. Abbott Sr. and Nellie Hight Abbott. She was a retired nurse. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Flowers Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Steve Jones. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Kittrell. Surviving are two daughters, Jane C. Ayscue of Timberlake and Bonnie C. Coley of Richmond; two sisters, Mary Abbott Sizemore of Oxford and Phyllis Abbott Jones of Stovall; three brothers, Harold G. Abbott of Raleigh and Ted H. Abbott and Phillip A. Abbott, both of Franklinton; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Flowers Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home of Mary A. Sizemore, 510 Hancock St., Oxford. Serving as active pallbearers will be Gary Ayscue, Ray Ayscue, Reuben West, Keith Jones, Brian Jones and David Carrier.
