Thompson and brothers, Joe and John Curtis. Mrs. Bigger was a member of Black Branch Baptist Church and Chase City Ruritan Club. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Carol Bigger, Chase City, daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Richard Puryear, South Hill, stepdaughter and her husband, Shirley and Joseph Scoca, Freeport, New York, stepsons, Alfred Bigger and wife, Judy, Chase City, Jim Bigger, Arlington, grandsons, Rick and Austin Puryear, South Hill, Alfred Bigger, Jr., Chase City, Ben Bigger, Oxford, NC and Joshua Scoca, Freeport, New York, great-grandsons, Joshua, Jesse, Samuel and Dustin Bigger, one sister, Catherine C. Taylor, South Hill. The family will receive friends at her home at all times. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Black Branch Baptist Church with interment in Woodland Cemetery.

He married Helen Hamilton Curtis July 28, 1941 in Wylliesburg, Charlotte Co., VA. Helen was born 1923. Helen is the daughter of Alvis Wilson and Mary (__). He married Dorothy Rose December 24, 1948 in Richmond, Henrico Co., VA. Dorothy was born March 27, 1920 in Richmond, Henrico Co., VA. Dorothy was the daughter of John E Rose and Lillian Fay Clawson. Dorothy died December 5, 1954 in Chase City, Mecklenburg Co., VA.
