Martha died August 24, 2012 in Richmond, Chesterfield Co., VA. OBIT: COATES, Florence "Kitty," born October 22, 1925, passed August 24, 2012. She is survived by her husband, H. R. Coates; two daughters, Joan, and her husband, Albert and Griselda; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Mills. She was preceded in death by two sisters, and a son-in-law. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the mausoleum at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
She married twice. She married H. R. Coates. She married Robert Lee McWhirt. Robert was born 1917 in Spotsylvania Co. VA. Robert died 1993 in Richmond, Chesterfield Co., VA.
Martha (Mattie) Florence Bigger and Robert Lee McWhirt had the following children:
