10372. James Adolphus8 Allgood (Adolphus T7, John Wesley6, Creed A5, George4, Spencer3, William John2, Edward1) was born in Mecklenburg Co, VA February2 4,1933. James died March 26, 2011 in Baskerville, Mecklenburg Co., VA. OBIT: Mr. James Adolphus Allgood, age 78 of Baskerville, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Community Memorial Healthcenter. He was a retired employee of the former Burlington Industries and a Korean Conflict Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Nellie King Allgood; his daughter Susan Roberts of Baskerville; two sons, James A. Allgood, Jr. of Baskerville and Paul A. Allgood of South Boston; his sister Marion Brame of Boydton; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory followed by cremation.
He married Nellie Mae King February 14,1958 in Union Level, Mecklenburg Co., VA. Nellie was born November 12,1939 in Warren Co., NC. Nellie was the daughter of George King and Ethel B Pitts. Nellie died August 26, 2012 in Mecklenburg Co, VA. OBIT: Mrs. Nellie King Allgood, age 72, of Baskerville, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at her residence. She was a retired OBGYN Nurse at Community Memorial Healthcenter and the widow of James Adolphus Allgood.
Nellie is survived by her daughter Susan A. Roberts and her husband John of Baskerville; two sons, James Adolphus Allgood, Jr. also of Baskerville and Paul Anthony Allgood and his wife Linda, of South Boston; three sisters, Betty Mountcastle of Kenbridge, Dot Burnette of South Hill and Lucille Foster also of Kenbridge; three brothers, Allen and Butch King both of Kenbridge and Earl King of Victoria; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Baskerville with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 P.M. at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory.
