9745. George Franklim8 Allgood JR (George Franklin7, Franklin Young6, John Henry5, John Young4, John Young3, William2 Algood, Edward1 Allgood) was born in GA August 11 1943. George died December 13, 2014 in Walhalla, SC. OBIT: George Franklin Allgood Jr., 71, husband of Darlia Chapman Allgood, of 125 North Lovingood Ave. Walhalla, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at his home.
A native of Athens, GA, Mr. Allgood was the son of the late George Franklin Sr. and Jewel Autry Allgood. George was retired, after having worked as former Vice President and Station Manager for WSNW radio in Seneca, and a former radio announcer at WGOG. He had also served as a board member and President of the Walhalla Chamber of Commerce, and in many other community organizations. He was an amateur radio operator and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Allgood is survived by his son, Brandon LeCroy of Walhalla; daughters, Laurie Allgood of Seneca, Kassandra Davis of Anderson; and grandchildren, Ryan Haynes, Bryce and Brendan LeCroy, Kristina and Alex Davis.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Allgood is preceded in death by his son Christopher Michael Allgood, and daughter Melissa Allgood.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday December 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca.
He married twice. He married Rebecca Callahan.
