Bettie died June 28, 2011 in Florence, Fremont Co., CO. OBIT: Bettie L. Moerbe, 82, passed away June 28, 2011 in Florence, CO. She was born September 3, 1928 to John W. and Lucinda Ruth (Ham) Luther.
In 1955, Bettie was united in marriage to Marvin “Tex” Moerbe in Raton, NM. He preceded her in death in 1984. She lived in the Denver area until 2006, when she moved back to Florence. Bettie was a member of the V.F.W. and Disabled American Veterans; and past department President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 161 in Arvada, CO.
Bettie is survived by her children, Ron (Cathy) Moerbe of NC, Shirley Doyle of Pueblo, Kenneth Stiny of Florence, and Karen Stiny of CA; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and five great grandchildren, with one on the way. She is also survived by siblings Virginia Allen and Robert M. (O’Dell) Press; nephew, G. Matt Burdis; aunts, Dorothy E. Ham and Wilma Fuller; family friends, Jean & Delbert Lennie, Laurie Kneeland, and Judith “Little Tex” Posey; numerous half brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., to 1:00 p.m., prior to Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Florence Historic Chapel at 120 N. Pikes Peak Ave., Florence, CO.
Interment will follow at Union Highland Cemetery at 791 CR 95 in Florence.
She married twice. She married (___) Stiny. She married Marvin Tex Moerbe 1955. Marvin died 1984 in Wheat Ridge, Jeffeson Co. CO.
