Marjorie died May 26, 2012 in Staples, Todd Co., MN. OBIT: Marjorie Ackerson, 69, resident of May Township, Cass County, Minn., died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Lakewood Health System in Staples. She was born Jan. 26, 1943 in Omaha, Neb., to Glenn and Lillian (Allgood) Riley. Marji moved to the Motley area from the big city of Omaha back in 1971, and never looked back. She loved her family, friends and neighbors — but she also really loved her farm and all animals, big and small. Surviving are her husband Jim; her mother Lillian Riley; children, Kelley (Norwood) Bradley of Pillager, Kevin (Kelly) Boyles of Baxter, and Michael Boyles of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Jill Baker, Beau Mertens, Kristine (Eric) Fornshell, Lindsay Martin, Samuel Norwood, Thomas Martin, Spencer Norwood, Eric Boyles, Jayce Hapka, Kendall Hapka, Alex Boyles and Nicholas Boyles; three great grandchildren; and brothers, Rodger (Elizabeth) Riley and Timothy (Deborah) Riley. She was preceded in death by her father Glenn Riley. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Heritage Assembly of God Church in Baxter. Burial will be in Bridgeman Cemetery in May Township. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and the hour before services Thursday at the church.
