4. Henry Brazeal III (Henry2, Henry1) was born in 1681 in Henrico, VA1 and died on 16 Jan 1767 in Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina, United States1 at age 86.

General Notes: In 1702, Henry Brazell, Jr. received a patent for 300 acres of land
in Henrico County, Va. adjoining that of Henry Brashall or Brazell,
Sr. He paid taxes on these 300 acres in 1705-1708, then he sold 100
acres to a Thomas Harwood. Henry's wife, Elizabeth signed to
relinquish her rights to the property, so we know that Elizabeth was
his first wife's name.
In 1730, Henry Brazell, Jr. patented 400 acres of land in Appatomaz
Creek in Gocchland County, Va. This new county had been a part of
Henrico County, Va. We do not know when or how Henry, Jr. disposed of
his property on Gilley Creek, which he had patented in 1702. Possibly
he moved off and left it or traded it in on this new property on
Appatomax Creek. Elizabeth, wife of Henry, Jr. died about 1745.
Henry, Jr. then married one of the Kennon girls about 1748.
In 1756, Henry, Jr. sold his property on Appatomax Creek and nothing
is known about him for the next several years. In 1764, a Henry
Breazell (Note the change of surname spelling) received a grant of 200
acres on Long Cane Creek in South Carolina. This is the same Henry,
Jr. because the 1850 Census record for South Carolina shows his son
Kennon as having been born in Virginia.
In 1767, this Henry Breazell made his will and styled himself as a
planter. The will was probated in 1770, so we presume he died about
1769.
We are grateful for the fact that in his will Henry, Jr. left a
bequest to his grandson Henry Breazell, son of Elijah and Patty
Breazell. This one statement provides us with the only link we have
between most of the Breazeales who settled in Tennessee, South
Carolina, Mississippi, and Alabama.
