One Of Greatest Heroes

One of the greatest heros I ever knew - my father, Harld Algood. He served in Patton's third army. Landed on Normady a month after D-Day and saw 269 days of continuous comat in four major campaigns. He fought in Northern France, the Rhineland, and the Ardennes. He was in The Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Bastogne. At Burgermister his troop liberated a concentration camp, and once they rescued children who were forced to work for the Germans. He also found an orphaned boy he called Golden because of his long curly locks of hair and carried him with him until he was able to leave him in a safe place during a lull in a battle. THANK YOU, to all the veterans who gave so much so we can enjoy the freedom we have today. And especially, thanks to my father, my personal hero.
