Happy Valentine’s Day to the girl I met at the library 45 years ago. She doesn’t like chocolates. She hates to waste money on killing flowers. She doesn’t care to go out to movies or fancy restaurants. She hates surprises. She likes The Bachelor and Bachelorette. I don’t. She likes The Amazing Race. I don’t. She likes Survivor. I don’t. She likes Big Brother. I don’t. I like The Blacklist. She doesn’t. I like Ancient Aliens. She doesn’t. I like The Curse of Oak Island. She doesn’t. She has a job. I don’t. But she loves me, and I love her. She and I had the same goals starting out. One was to have someone to love and grow old with. I’m there. She hasn’t made it yet.
