He married twice. He married Caroline Mary (Mattie) McRae. Caroline was born 1832. Had 7 children
He married Martha Jane Fox September 15, 1861 in Jefferson, Marion Co., TX. Martha was born June 10, 1839 in TN. Martha was the daughter of William Fox and Jane Darden. Martha died February 18, 1903 in TX. Martha is buried in the Vinson Cemetery, Thornton, Limestone Co., Texas She had two children by William Taylor Hogue and then they separated William was a confederate soldier and a a charter member of the Masonic Lodge, Marshall, Texas

3004 vii. Dock Hogue was born in Limestone Co., TX May 26, 1876. Dock died June 1876. Doc died when one month old.
3005 viii. Mollie Octavia Hogue was born October 29, 1878.
3006 ix. Mattie Victoria Hogue was born October 29, 1878.
3007 x. Willie Rush Hogue was born in Marion Co., TX June 10, 1886.
