Frances died April 21, 2014 in Gainsville, Alachua Co., FL. OBIT: Frances Jarrett Tincher passed away April 21 at Haven Hospice, Gainesville, Florida. She was born Dec. 11, 1921, in McCalla, Alabama, third child of Grover Cleveland Jarrett and Edna Birmingham Jarrett. She married Clarence (Red) Tincher in 1942, living in Zanesville, Ohio and, for many years, Ruskin, Florida. They were married sixty-eight years. Frances was devoted to Ruskin United Methodist Church, working for years as church secretary. She wrote a column for the Ruskin Observer and won top prize in a statewide Women's Club Poetry contest. A talented artist, she painted portraits and still lifes much of her life. She encouraged her children as well as others in art. A dedicated caregiver, she cared for her mother-in-law, mother, aunt and husband in the last years of their lives. Even in old age, caregivers at assisted living found she was concerned about them and returned her love and interest. Frances was deeply loved by family and friends. She married Clarence Miller (Red) Tincher August 8, 1942 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co, AL. Clarence was born November 1, 1917 in Berwind, McDowell Co., WV. 1920 Census shows Clarence and his family lived in McDowell Co., WV. In 1930 his family lived in Muskingum Co., OH, Newton District. Clarence was the son of Erskins Miller Tincher and Mary Mina Crosier.
Clarence died October 14,2010 in Prairie Grove, AR. OBIT: Clarence Miller Tincher 92 a resident of Ruskin, Florida, passed away October 14, 2010 at Prairie Grove Health and Rehab in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He was born November 1, 1917 in Berwind, West Virginia, the son of Erskine Miller and Mary Armina Crosier Tincher. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Frances Tincher of the home; three children, Michael Tincher of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Shelley Buonaiuto and her husband, Michael of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Peter Tincher and his wife, Lindsey of Gainesville, Florida; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Benton of Sun City Center, Florida.
