Vernon died September 4, 2002 in Atlanta, Cass Co., TX. Vernon D. Hogue Sr., 96, of Atlanta died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, in Atlanta.
Mr. Hogue was born June 21, 1906, in Cass County, Texas. He was a retired truck driver and member of First Presbyterian Church, Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Mae Hogue.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Vernon D. and Marsha Hogue Jr. of Dallas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Frances and Willard Buchanan of Clinton Township, Mich., and Carrie Evelyn Rowley of Las Vegas; two sisters, Healon Oney and Beatrice McConnell of Marshall, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Hanner Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Wilmoth officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Algoma Cemetery, Marshall.
He married Clara Inez Lundy February 15, 1930 in Caddo Parrish, LA. Clara was born March 2, 1908 in Caddo Parrish, LA. Clara was the daughter of Aaron Lundy and Reathee Steed. Clara died December 4, 2000 in Atlanta, Cass Co., TX.
Vernon D. Hogue and Clara Inez Lundy had the following children:
